:confused Can anyone tell me if the paint system for my matt black 2001 rsvr , is just a primer and then the matt black on top.Also does it matter what colour the primer is,got a few marks i would like to repair.Thanks:biggrin

I purchased a touch up kit for my mat black "Diablo black"

Came with the black and clear coat. Tested it to minor scratches and it seems to work fine.

:thumbup Cheers for that,did not no it had a clear coat on.Did they tell you to use any primer colour.

Scratches were so minor that priming the base would have been useless.
No clear coat either. Some touch up and polish with Autoglym bumper care after wards.

On major repairs primer is a must specially when one is painting plastic - such as the tank of fairings.
