Difference between 2014 Tuono and 2017 Tuono Factory. Night and Day?

I'm just getting back into riding after having a 2007 Tuono for years. Sold it back in 2015/16

Looking at a 2014 Tuono V4 ABS for $8300
or
2017 Tuono V4 1100 Factory for $13k.

I'm 49 years old and don't plan on doing track days anymore well maybe one or two. I just want a motorcycle back in my life but don't want to spend a lot. Being older and a little wiser I really don't push it hard on the road anymore, but still like to occasionally feel that power.

Is the 2017 going to be so much better than the 2014 for mainly road purposes and occasional jaunts/half day tours out here in the SF Bay Area?
Is the $4500 difference really that noticeable?

2017+ is supposedly much more reliable, engine-wise.
2017+ you also get all the new electronics and dash.
For road use, the cruise control feature is a real blessing.
I I were you, I'd look into a 2017+ but the cheaper RR model instead of the Factory.
The only difference is the suspension (Ohlins vs Sachs) and different tail section and paint job. All the rest is strictly identical.

I would defo agree that the 2017 with the addition items as mentioned is a far better bike, I have the RR & it’s 100% reliable & great in every way

If your not tracking your bike go with the RR. I have a 2020 Misano RR I tested the 2020 Factory and for street riding purposes there no sense in spend the extra coin once you get your suspension set there no reason to play with it. Sachs has come a long way and the quality is there.
