shims

I need to change 7 out of the 8 shims & went to my local Aprilia dealer & he wanted £12.50 each for them :eek: how f**kin much, last time I did them he did an exchange service & only charged 2 quid each. So anyone know where to get these at a reasonable price or is there an alternative :dunno...

Hi all, Has anyone here done their own valve clearance checking for the 12,500 mile service? Any tips or things to look out for? Also how easy is it to get hold of the right shims, if they needed replacing? Cheers

I`m getting the swingarm recall done on my bike soon and was wondering where to get a hold of some nylon shims to keep the dog bone central? i`ve seen a few people make these up, does anyone sell them?

I am looking to check my valve shims over the winter, the bike has done 46000miles and makes a bit of noise from the heads, it actually runs very well and has not had any problems in 5 years. Could some of you experts give me an idea how diificult this job will be and any special tools I need +...
