setback

righto heres another conundrum my 2001 rsv had a leaky petrol tank so i replaced one off ebay but the filler cap is different !!!! so is there a universal cap or can i find out which one i need by looking at the cap , why have they changed when both from a gen 1 , are they diff on a gen 2...
