rear sets

Hi all Just brought a set of Gilles rear sets for my 2006 RSV1000R and was wondering if anyone had a fitting guide or some decent photos of some filled? The actual process of bolting them on is clearly pretty strait forward, but on the gear lever side do I need to cut away the plastic faring...
