odometer

hey guys new to the forum and wondering if theres a write up on how to change the odometer?.just brought a 2008 rs125 and after a service the odometer got stuck on 4000k's mechanic seems to think its a corrupt chip or something like that...unless anyone else has ideas. all other displays work...

Disconnected my battery to fit a battery charger connector lead and the bike bike clocks reset completely. Know this is normal for most of the manual settings but the main odometer reading reset itself to zero as well! Now have a 2004 RSV Factory with zero miles.... Anybody ever heard of this...
