mode?

Just wondering how this is done. Do I hold the lap button in for 15secs then put on the ignition or put on the ingnition then hold the lap button? How to I exit the mode- just turn of the ignition? Any one got a list of codes and possible fixes for each? Cheers men?

I've sorted the idle problem out and got the diag to read 0 on idle etc, but how do I get it out of diag mode, as the bike is running slightly too hot for my liking want to check the coolant temp etc, any ideas?
