inaccurate

Hi guys, did a quick search and found nothing, so thought I'd ask the masses :-) Has anyone investigated why our voltmeter is so far off? Is it simply a voltage drop across the wiring that feeds the power to the dash, or a poor earth connection for the dash - or does the correct voltage go in...
