Noticed my front left fork bottom was cracked due to the previous numpty overtightening the clamp bolts. Just cost me over £300 quid to get the fork bottom changed and new seals and oil in both by Kais Suspension, Atherton. 12 Nm's is the correct torque.

The cause of the above is 2 reasons. Firstly the axle diameter is too large on the left hand side which reduces the amount of material on the left fork bottom. Secondly the pinch bolts are too large, Thus it is too easy to overtighten the pinch bolts resulting in too much stress in the fork...
