Do me a favor, next time your on your bike, hold the Lap/highbeam button while you turn the key. Don't start the bike, but turn the key. Keep the lap button held, and tell me if you see a code on there. There shouldn't be. It should read a "0" there. But tell me if you see the red triangle...
