blue??

Just taken off the rear brake pads and the pads are a bluey oily colour, is this signs of overheating? If so is it down to the rear brake lever not having sufficient play in it? When i turn the wheel by hand on the paddock stand it tends to grind a bit. :dunno New pads and new discs or just...
