bearings-choices?

H folks, well..after 53k miles my steering head bearings need replacing:rant any one know what the cost is for oe parts and wether there are any alternatives?..also fancy respringing my showas whilst the front end is out, any experiences on ohlins or WP springs? or heavier oil too? cheers Ck
