Hey guys, just thought I would share a few pictures of my old road going zx7r which is being transformed into a track bike.

The current engine is totally gone, only salvagable for parts mainly. Big end gone after a 100+mph slide into a field caused the engine to be starved of oil :(

O well, £220 later and a 10,000 miles p4 motor is on its way! Arrives on wednesday!

Heres the pictures of the strip down, currently awaiting on my kawasaki engine removal tool to arrive so the motor can be dropped out :)

Took around 2hours in total to get it down to where it is and clean all the nooks and cranies!

Factory Pro Jet Kit
Full TI Akra

looks like a nice little project you've got there. Was it you ridding on the 100mph Slide  at least it was into a field :eatcorn

That's not a knackered ZX-7R. THIS is a knackered ZX-7R. My mate had a nightmare at donny a couple of years ago. No injuries, just a mark on his chin. walked away from it....... after running a couple of steps at 90mph.

Total cost of rebuild.... £700. He can't/won't bring himself to sell it.

and finally... the pile of fairing from his mullered 7 and my then partially (now fully) mullered VFR400.

Ahhh ZX7R My first Propper bike, Historic front end, loads of shove from the engine and frequent stops in the cold due to the ice in the carbs.... Happy days......

Had to balance said carbs every couple of months but what a bike.

Best of luck to you mate! I've got plenty of bits if you ever need owt. Was going to build a project using a 7 engine/frame, Mille Brembo wheels, '04+ RSV swingarm, zx10r forks and this, that and the other. Had a rolling chassis but decided to break it. :unhappy

I sacrificed my 7 road bike to help pay for my Tuono Racing but I'll have another one, someday.............. :inlove

Nice bikes them :thumbup, I had one till some light fingered chav decided they wanted it more than me:angry

I would definately be interested in the 10r forks and mille swinger/wheels.

Drop me a PM with some prices in :D

New engine is from a ZX7R P6 - with 10,550 miles

As soon as the engine removal tool arrives, the engine will be dropped, replaced and rebuilt hopefully in a matter of hours :D

Woop Woop!

You can drop the engine by using an allen key in the centre of the locking collars, that's what my mate did when he rebuilt his!!

He needed a new frame, sub-frame, forks, fairings and some clean undies!! lol

Here is his finished bike, goes like stink!! Fastest 750 at Brize's runway run last year!!

My favorite bike. I'll make a post of my zx7r that i'm rebuilding atm.

It's full of kit parts ;)
