Well, my "specially made" light tint screen arrived for my '04 after about a 4 week wait. For some reason the light tint screens are not stocked in the UK but are available from the states if you are prepared to wait.

Once I finally overcame the "interesting" :banghead standard fasteners, the old screen was removed.

Then I had a brainwave and removed the fairing to mount the new screen which probably took about 4 very frustrated hours off the job...only 4 screws and an electrical connector to get it off and so much easier to fit the screen.

First ride impressions:

I can now ride 15-20 mph faster for the same windblast than before...also, the bike is much more planted during high speed direction changes and cornering which makes it far more confidence inspiring. :thumbup

Problem is, now I want to go faster...:thumbdown

Overall, top screen, looks great, serious benefits so worth the wait.

I eyeballed it and decided it would be difficult to impossible to remove the screen without removing the fairing. :dunno

The only real problem was those funky *** fasteners. They must be quick and cheap to install at the factory with some special tool. I was able to conquer and re-use them by prying them off carefully then reshaping them with a small ball peen hammer before reinstalling. :cheers

I went with the Zero Gravity sport touring screen. A little taller and wider. Takes the edge off the wind. :thumbup
