Having just got my RSV its got Rennsports on, they have only done about 600m, they seem fairly sturdy in the dry but a bit slippy in the wet and rubbish on Ice :pirate (going to end up with 3" chicken strips at this rate)

Thinking about getting a new pair of something that like the wet and as I commute they need to give good miles and ideally be fairly cheap (swmbo its getting fed up of need this need that for bike) and then changing back to the Rennsports in drier times ........ Discuss :eatcorn

I am one of those girly bikers who only rides in the dry but if I was a commuter like you I would be looking at something like the pilot road 2's. They are dual compound (for the commuter mileage) but more suited for the colder/ wetter season. CLICK ME:eatcorn

Pilot Powers for me on road or track (even in the wet on track) - 2CTs should give you even better mileage but I haven't tried 'em.
Bike currently fitted with Supercorsas after my track trip but, although great on track, suspect they're not going to get warm enough for the road and really don't fancy them in the wet.

303, I am on a Supercorsa front and Corsa III rear. Awesome in the warm and dry but bottom clenching in the winter.:eatcorn

Michelin Pilot Road II dual compound offer excellent grip and mileage in both dry and wet conditions and will offer more consistant grip than Rennsports as you simply won't get anywhere near enough heat into them for them to perform at their optimum unless you are a riding god Yorks

Avon Azaro's OR the NEW Avon Storms are your best bet for what you've just told us. They will give great milage out of them too. IMHO.
I had Avon Azaro's on mine when i got it as the guy used it day in day out and did a lot of Motorway miles.

Rennsport is a track tyre, efcorse its useles in the wet and in cold weather, it needs a high working tempereture to preform.

It is also hard to warm up on the street, thats way its called a race tyre. For the street Metzeler has m1 and newer m3.

If you want something for cold days and rain get a sport-touring tyre, from Metzeler its Roadtec Z6, I heard good thig abot z6, so give it a try, and save rennsport for the track.

Interesting Sab but not sure I want to use this one on a wet Wiltshire backroad!

I've got supercorsa's on mine at present and think there the best thing ever as for getting hot no problem and yes they are very much arse clenching in the damp but they make up for that in the dry with the big smiles they give you

just to add to the above but in the most recent tyre test the pirelli diablo rosso came top above the metzeler sportec M3 in 2nd and then corsa III's

Shinko tires on ebay. I use them on my Futura and used them on my Katana. They are good tires that have a lot of tread life for the $$$$.

Thanks guys, pilot sport or storms I think, having a look on evil bay ?154 for avon storm pair http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/120-190-Avon-Storm-ST-AV55-AV56-Tyres-Hayabusa_W0QQitemZ300277107074QQihZ020QQcategoryZ21669QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

These seem like good prices?

As there is hardly any difference in price so guess how long they last would be the main saving and not needing to take spare undercrackers to work every day when my rear tyre tries to overtake my front tyre will be nice :doug

:thumbupTried the avon storms on my blackbird when i used it daily on my 60 mile trip to work, best tyre i have used on the bird, but was not happy with the poor miles i go out of them .For being a touring tyre i would expect at least 6000 from front and 4000 from rear, got about 4000 from front and between 2-3 000 miles from rear.

I'm doing 100 miles a day on country a roads so thats not great news on the storms, anybody know if the pilots or 2ct will get more miles out of them ?

2 CTs in the new 190/55 profile i just put on work and handle well... my old CTs wore well and i got alot of straighline riding round my parts :) let me tell ya. I never hesitated to go back for more of em..my head trusts the Michelins and gives good confidence when your on the push.

Rather than go with a full on fast road/track tyre in Pilot Power 2CT, have a look at the Michelin Pilot Road 2 dual compounds. Probably the best allround sports road tyre out there

Got the CorsaIII's on at the moment, haven't had to many probs in the wet, some people have mentioned the Avon storms, I use them on my work bike and they are pretty good, but when it's cold and wet they feel really slimey until they have warmed up, much more so than the Pirelli's
