Yamaha is recalling 180 YZF-R1, FZS600, and FJR1300 motorcycles from 2005 for a faulty throttle position sensor. Not all 2005 owners need to fret though, as the affected bikes were manufactured only between October 2004, and April 2005.
A faulty throttle position sensor could cause the motorcycle to stall, and result in a crash. Yamaha will be contacting affected owners, and replacing the throttle position sensor free of charge.*The safety recall is expected to begin on or about October 7, 2009. Owners may contact Yamaha at 1-714-761-7300, or as always, the NHTSA*at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153).
