According to Italian website Motosprint, Stiggy Racing will be trading in it’s Honda CBR1000RR’s next year for a pair of shiny new Yamaha R1’s. This surprising manufacture swap seems to center around the financial issues Yamaha (and the rest of the motorcycle industry) is facing with cut backs in racing, and will add a second “supported” Yamaha team to the WSBK series in 2010.

Terms of the deal see Monster Energy footing a large portion of the costs, and Stiggy Racing also taking on management of Yamaha’s World Supersport racing effort. WSS costs Yamaha a reported €2 million a year. Anthony West will be on one Stiggy WSS machine for 2010, with the other rider not yet confirmed.

In WSBK, Stiggy Racing will recieve its new R1’s from Yamaha's racing department at Gerno di Lermo, who will be prepare the bikes to the*same tun as Yamaha’s current factory supported team sponsored by Sterilgarda. Aboard with Stiggy for 2010 WSBK is John Hopkins and Leon Haslam.
