finally got round to sticking my 16/44 Talon sprockets and DID chain on before leaving work tonight. :doug
Wow, she's a different animal now! Loads more fun! and nicer when in slow moving town traffic. Why did'nt I do this earlier :confused
 
just bought a 16 tooth for mine not fitted it yet still enjoying the hooked airbox...might wait and buy a new chain and 44 rear
 
If your chain is perfectly ok, just fit a 15 tooth front sprocket from the standard 17/42 for 2003 bikes and earlier. It's virtually the same gearing as 16/44. These bikes are so over geared as standard. Some foreign bikes and certanly USA models had the 16 tooth as standard ( 16/42 ).

Later 2003.5 to 2009 RSVR and Factory came with 16/40 gearing as standard. These benefit hugely from 15/42 gearing
