And by that I mean would you buy a V4 Tuono.
A dealer nearby is selling V4 non APRC Tuonos for £9499, with five grand for mine its tempting.
Its difficult to tell from a short test ride if all the things the twin does so well will be significantly improved.
What do you think ?

Wheels in Peterborough are knocking them out for £8995 at the moment.
I love my V twin,....I cant see me swapping for a V4 just yet.

would i ?

no.

only cos i dont especially like the V4, dont get me wrong, the performance is a lot better, but a twin it aint, if i,d have wanted a V4 i,d have had one long ago, the twin has something different, before i got my 1st T i was contemplating streetfightering an SP1, which i still think of from time to time. best v twin engine by far (in its day).

if yer a smaller person, maybe ?

Nope....it's Piaggio innit? Not going there again...no Sir-eee :(

Test rode a new SpeedTrip r a month back. Nice bike, really nice.

But not £6k nicer than my Tuono r ;)

must admit the V4 is a nice looking machine however i am smitten by the V twin, have been thinking about changing but nothing out there appeals. at one stage i was contemplating a Moto Guzzi Griso but thats Piaggio as well :dunno

I once bought a blade when all my mates were riding older jap stuff.
It was OK on my own, but when I rode with them I always felt that I was riding at 7 tenths while they were really trying.

Plus I realy do like the old T, it ticks all the boxes.

I might get something else, but if I ever get shot if it, I know I will regret it the rest of my life.

Wouldn't mind a go on one, but I'm sure I read they are a bit uncomfortable, and not the great leap forward people were expecting.
I sometimes think about a change, had mine 3 yrs now, but when I have a good blast out, I know I'd miss the V twin grunt.

Your all right of course, went out for a blast tonight and ended up at Southport,
Got talking to a guy with an egli Vincent 1000 bored out to 1300,
V twins definately rule

14 of us went to assen a couple of weeks ago on all sorts of bikes from the usual Jap stuff, some streetfighters, a couple of Italian bikes, BMW`s, even a Harly.

No one had any issues & we rode at an average of 75 / 80 for most of the journey.

From the above, it shown that most bikes are capable of doing what we want, I think its mainly image & style.

Some (most) of us have not grown up (I know I havn`t) and are re-living some dream we had when we were younger when we were free & rebelious.

Unless you know different.

But, as most shop keepers know, if I had a test ride on one of the new T`s I would probably want one.

I really wanted one ,was planning to chop my Dorsoduro in against it and do the rest on the chucky, but I,m just too tall for them it bought a 07 factory outright instead

You not too happy with the little Itallian ***** either brooksy?

I thought it was just me being pedantic..;)
Tifa when out on the road the bike is brilliant and does all you need a bike to do and then some however its the little problems that get on my **** (misting clocks, dodgy side stand, stators, suspension linkage - need i go on) as someone else on this thread said 'i would really miss it if i got rid'
i suppose its a love hate relationship :dunno

At the moment I don't think I would, I've only seen them in the showroom; but there doesn't seem to be the 'wow' factor I got when I bought my first Gen 2.

Maybe if the factory version existed, I'd be more swayed, but it just looks a little bland.

My long term sight is on the BMW S1000 naked; as i reckon it'll be 2014 before I'm in the market for a new(er) bike.

I must admit, when I remember when I first saw a blue / white T in the showrooms.

I had no idea what it was, but I still remember the "wow" factor.

It was always going to be a hard act to follow.

The V4 certainly has the performance, but there is somethiong missing from the looks dept.

A bit like some of the women I have been with (a long time ago), not much to look at but they certainly did go.

If I'd give up on ma T there wid need to be a very compelling reason, the fact that aprilia have produced a different machine that carries the Tuono label means **** all to me, it's as ugly as sin but that's jmo.

I'm lucky enough to have access to a few bikes, il6, il4, 2t, and ma v2.

When all's said and done fir this Fud they're jist machines that serve A purpose and if a had the dosh a'd buy a v4, but not an aprilia.

all this talk about V4s has got me realy tempted, so i have gone and booked a test ride on one :crazy
i am also going to test the moto guzzi griso as a softer alternative :dunno
the only person not happy about these test rides is the wife and i dont understand why :lol

Don't do it brooksy. Just do what I do, rather than trade in and spend more just keep what you have and buy another bike with the money you would have spent trading up. That way you get to buy something different and have a bit of variety. Get an old LC or something and re live your youth. The Tuono is a great bike and you will miss it.
Heds

I love the 12v Griso.....and I was tempted to chop in my trusty old Hornet 900 for one....but then I came to my senses.....
TWO Piaggio's in 1 shed = nervous breakdown
