Thats for a 2003 model, although I wouldn't know if you could retro fit it to yours..sorry :dunno

He would have to get a pillion pad that matched tho as there are a couple of variations From 01 to 02/03 models as i found out when i got mine from dealer.

different shape slightly and not interchangeable with one another.

in theory

98-00 pointed end
01-02 flat end
03 rounded, also tuono one fits if needed

That part will fit the mk2 bikes, but you will need new pillion seat & Cowl and the rear light unit is different as well.

I think the MK1 bikes were different again.

the rear light unit you can unbolt out of the 01/02
and then bolt into the 03 tail

pillion cowls for the 03 are few & far between second hand as to the pillion seats
They make a pretty penny
