helo every body thanks 4 the birthday wishes .i have got a bit of a problem i have had my tuono 06 stripped down for winter drained coolant and oil coolers to get sprayed with my radiator put back together ok. i thought started up this morning first time to see if i had any leaks.no leaks the problem is the oil warning is on but its level is fine to mutch if onest and it wont rev past 3000 it is abit intermitant has any body got an idea wat is rong

I would reckon that the bike is going into some sort of limp mode due to the oil light being on and restricting the RPM mate.
I would run the bike on tickover for a few minutes up to full temperature and then check the oil as per the manual. Remember that the oil warning light could show up if the level is too high as well as too low, the Tuono is not a simple bike where electricals are concerned.

thanks fellas but have let it tick over for ages still the same plus i now have a red triangle warning .any ideas

Post this question on the AF1 forum - there are a few Aprilia techs lurking - they might have seen this before.

FWIW - workshop manual extract

7.1.7. ENGINE RPM LIMITATION CONDITION

The control unit limits engine rpm in case one of the following events occurs:
- TPS signal missing.
- stepper motor signal missing.
- low oil pressure.
- On the Axone DEVICES STATUS page, the parameter INITIALISED ECU is "NO".
- water temperature above 120 °C (248 °F).
- if the ECU detects a failure of a set of signals that might compromise safe use of the vehicle. For example: TPS and
intake pressure signals missing at the same time.

Have you checked the oil pressure sensor is connected properly, sometimes if it has corrosion or isn't pushed fully in the red triangle comes on and a low pressure error is logged on the clocks? Check the error on the clocks anyway that should help narrow it down.
