Shhhhd, because until MCN started flapping their gums no one realised what was to be had for such little money. Still farr too many about to fetch silly money, but give it a few years.
if you want cheap mille's or any other italian bike for that matter try romania! because of the lack of good mechanics and the lack of interrest in getting parts for clients italian bikes have a very bad reputation here! you can get a MINT '04-06 factory for up to 4000 euros, a 99-00 for 2000 MAX and the 01-03 for 2500 MAX. mechanically sound ones with some (minor in most cases) cosmetic damage for 1000-1500...

Think because they`re not a Ducati people shy away from them but have had mine for 4 years now and is the only bike i`ll have ever had for so long , am no vale` but but there`s not much goes past me on the roads when i`m on the mille .Doesn`t stand a chance with the latest breed of 1000 `s in a straight line but we don`t do straight lines up here !
Don`t know if sales of RSV4`s have been great either and that wins most shootouts handsdown but is still jostling for position as my next bike only the RC8R will sway me !!

So cheap cos the majority of the bike buying public don't know their arses from their elbows and probably feel some weird need to chuck daft money at dealerships for the latest tech which they'll never really need or benefit from. 2k for a low mileage 2001 rsv Mille R? Thanks very much, don't bother wrapping it ill ride it home! Happy days.
