OK Guy's i'm the newbie on here. I like Aprilia i think you get alot of bike for your money. The 2003 on rsv factory's are one of the best looking bike's ever in my eye's.I dont own one just yet but i am trying come on H... As you can see in my garage i ride a four pot can you tell me what will i gain in my rideing experience by dropping two of em? There must be people on here that have both or have gone from four to two. I'm not talking performance it's the ride ia'm after. Tell me your reasons for picking Aprilia:dunno

One thing is pure fun factor, one hell of a lot of more bottom end grunt the awesome twin pot sound could go on but you get the jist

Riding a V-Twin is just totally different. It's a much less frantic ride using the low down torque grunt rather than a wave of revs, and the sound................. :inlove

Bikebloke, well, eveyone on this forum bought a vtwin aprilia because i suspect it was the best bike they had ever ridden.

If you like revving the nuts off a 4 cylinder then a vtwin is not for you, if you like the torque and sheer drive of a twin then maybe the Aprilia is for you.

For me the Aprilia is the best smiles per miles bike on the market.

The only way you'll know is to take one for a test ride :thumbup

Reason No1 is they are still quite exclusive, barring a rideout they are still scarse on the road, jap bikes are 2 a penny, the rsv is a reliable italian Vtwin that turns heads with looks and noise

Reason No2 is the low down grunt, power that an inline 4 will never give you, they can and will bite if not shown respect, ride it with respect and you will corner like a train on rails, use the engine braking properly and in she goes, open the throttle and out she powers, hard to explain but ride one and you will understand :thumbup:thumbup

For me, new litre fours are far too focused to enjoy on the road, that and they are designed for dwarfs (certainly not 6`2" lummaks like me) made an aprilia an easy choice for me. Looks stunning, plenty of room for my legs and arms,, a sublime motor that I will never ride to it`s limits and the noise,, oh the noise.
not had many fours, that said, can`t see me having another one now either.

Comfy.. stylish..power delivery..the sound..:thumbup Just ride it m8 and you will understand :biggrin

I've been riding bikes a little over 3 years now, and half of the time has been on the Mille, and in that time my my riding and confidence has come on in leaps and bounds :dunno as the bike gives you all the inspiration in the world :thumbup with the WOW and FUN factor rolled into one :devious :biggrin

With the noise :doug and looks :inlove it makes heads turn in the street, and above all it stands out from the crowd :pirate

Ride one and you'll know exactly wot I mean fella :devious:thumbup

One more thing dudes...

One day when your wantin to impress a lady, perch her on the back ride around the block... all it takes on a V-twin. The best fluffing you will ever give....

Remember to wear protection. :devious

Thank's for the feedback guy's. Have now taken two Aprilias out an 04 rsv and an 05 factory. Really good felt a bit big at first and it took me a while to sort that engine brakeing thing out [bruised nuts] never mind. I was impresed enough to still want one. ? about this low down grunt that some had mentioned it was no more than i expected from a litre twin ? Try a sorted k61000 then talk to me about low down grunt. Anyway still waiting on H... he has a 06 factory for sale ive pm'd him a few time's now.:dunno

Bikebloke from my experiance you either get a V twin or you don't :dunno

If you want the fastest, lighest thing on the road then this is the wrong place to look.

If you want real life usability, style, something a little different then this is the right place.

If you have ridden one and your still not sure, think hard before buying one. Most people who ride twins its love and passion rather than anything else :inlove:inlove

I see that you have ridden for a long time. Me too, but after a while it seamed to me that all Jap. Fours were the same. Soo... I'd have never ridden a V-Twin and was curious to try something else. Suzuki had come out with the SV-650 and everyone had good review. Got one and fell in love. A real bike with a real engine that you could feel. I've had 3 SV in a row, but did'nt like the last one. Tried the 1000 but was dissapointed. Was weary of the RSV before trying. But now, can't wait to ride it. If you like to do some touring you may be dissapointed otherwise you're old enough to know by yourself.

Would still rather tour on an RSV than a J.I.L.4.

I commute with a Baglux full of tools (15kg) I have also fitted a double bubble, which has changed the bike massively... 95mph on the motorway for ever.
