Had 3 or 4 inlines. didn't like how a guy really had to wind it up for the juice, screaming around, kinda annoying. plus really had to be good on the brakes and blipping through down shifts, never got as good as i should have, which brings me to the natural engine braking of a twin, and power down low really suited me, plus center of mass and bike narrowness are nice, rsvr could lose some weight though.Heard from NUMEROUS riders, that a twin is Ideal for street. short answer.

All of the questions really

Got bored with inline4's so wanted a twin....sounds great, looks great and i just love it.............:thumbup

As Battlebiker says...could have ticked them all. The Jap bikes are all begining to look the same and dont stand out. You see an RSV and you know what it is from a mile away (when it's running haha)

it was raining and i was bored....oh and the nice suzayami man would not give me a test ride:dunno

I fought the temptation for a couple of years, always loved the sound and very apparent power of the V-Twins but put off by the temperamental nature (TL1000), cost (Honda) and crippling servicing charges (Ducati). Then had a year on R6 following a Mille.....Got so pissed off with the tap dancing on the gear lever and revving the nutts off it to keep up...Then borrowed Mille for a couple of days: the rest is history.

Always had IL4's but 2 pals I ride ride with have twins - Ducati 998S FE and Honda SP2.
Just thought I would give a bike with a cement mixer engine a go....

Just wanted something different that stood out from the rest, and now got it........ :doug

Had inline fours for many years and wanted something a bit special, so took the mille out and within 5 minutes i knew it was the one. Doubt if i'll ever go back to a jap crap again ever. STYLE, SOUND,HANDLING,all the above and more... And of course the rsv community :thumbup

a milles 125 bhp can easily mess with the 165bhp jap bikes...well up to about 170 anyway. All the fun is below that if you ask me, thats what I love about mine, oh and the chasis is soooo stable under speed and turn.
BAR Barp!!

difficult to choose a single answer, I'll put all.... maybe for owning a different bike, but not sure that's the main reason

I always loved the RSV's, but never thought I'd actually get one, until I fell madly in love :laugh I always loved the looks and character of it, but it wasn't until I actually rode an RSV for a whole weekend the hammer dropped.. :)

Wanted another Italian V Twin with none of the worries :devious

As the man said BARPPPP :doug :inlove

Worked in Italy 7-8 years went to the Aprilia factory several times and delivered many bikes back the UK also bought back Ducati's including the very first 6 ordered 916's but I just loved everything about Aprilia's he rest speaks for it self

I wanted a bike with character. The jap bikes may be faster but they're all the same. I like the individuality of the Aprilia. Plus the forum is a blast to cruise.:thumbup

The cost was a clincher for me; bang for buck you won’t find anything else that gets close imo :)

how do you tick all the answers
possibly the only twin to have with all the toys for the right money

Wanted a trackday-only bike...
  • Having campaigned a Multistrada for 3 seasons, it HAD to be a V-twin;
  • Admired Prillys from Corser/WSB and Mille/National series a few years ago;
  • Long admired Rotax from their work with Ludwig Apfelbeck on radial singles;
  • Duc 999S is way too small (saddle-to-peg) for my 1.88m;
  • Duc 1098S is way over budget;
  • Was considering a s/h Factory when I saw new 06 for silly money;
  • Prilly promises to be closer to ready-for-track than any of the rest;
  • Favourite auntie is called Millie.:blush
I'm sufferin' cabin fever at the moment cos I've not had it out of the garage yet. Only 124 days to the first trackday :bored
