"The slice of lime"
a major uk supplier spotted the market for Corona in blighty.. organised over a million bottles shipped to the uk in the late 80,s.
At this time best before dates became obligatory on beer (cans and bottles) not curiously enough on cider!!, but that came later.
So, said supplier now has an issue, to have stock anylised and every bottle stamped with a date,which would cost thousands or find a solution.
The solution being, market the drink as a cocktail, and as such required no dating stamp, hence the slice of lime.. This prompted the popularity of it, as it could only be served in bars and not in shops... the trend was then set, and a legend was born through myth and creative advertising... fantastic.

Just done nightshift, dayshift , nighshift, dayshift ,no idea shift, so think I am off tomorrow so to sort the madness am on the sniffters, any snifter will do, this nyping is gettin hard to do at moment sooooooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hic

Well I'm on strike again tomorrow. You might have heard it on the news this time. Last time just lecturers, this time lecturers teachers & other public sector workers. Before you lot think or say it this could affect our pensions hugely.
Anyway making the most of it & as is my way getting hammered :thumbup
Lost £76 last time (app days pay after tax or whatever) so same again but no way I'm passing a ******* picket line.

Traditional (for me) supermarket curry and bottle of wine for me tonight. Can't neck too much as have a customer meeting tomorrow morning that I suspect is going to be difficult.
Tomorrow knocking off work early to get the train up to Cheltenham for a session with a mate who lives there. Late train back where I'll lie comatose covered in my own dribble and hope I wake up when we pull into Olde Bristol Town.
