I lived in Uphall for 23 years and as my locals were the Dovehill Arms, The Volunteers Arms and The Oatridge ... I was a bit scarred!
Also (31 years ago) Glasgow for 2 years before it became chic ... and back then it was a **** hole; no trendyness and no class.
Nothing finer than discovering a gem of a watering hole wherever you may be in the world.

An unplanned deviation from plan ... like ending up on a mountain whilst sposed to be on a group ride
I swerved from the trusted Merlot ... and opened another new friend "Austrailian wine of Austraila, Red wine" from the Co-op
Its as rough as **** and when it meets Muro de Vino Piemonte, Barbera 2009 ... I fear for the worst
To make matters worse ... as Mrs Welly can cook **** ALL and cares not if I return tired and hungry after a 12 hour day ... I have just partaken of a Bombay Badboy pot noodle ... and as usual (swear on the life of my T) I added a goodly amount of Encona West Indian hot pepper sauce.
