Just bought my mille and forgot to ask the seller which oil goes in the bike. Have tried to contact him but had no luck. Not sure if its full or semi synthetic. As a precaution im going to do a whole change, but which grade and make should i choose. Are v twins sensative to different oils. How much is needed for a full change. Cheers Andy

I only got mine a couple of weeks ago but I'm sure I've seen a thread saying use semi synth, congrats on the bike:thumbup

15w50....semi or fully synth it dont matter as long as you change it when you should

I put silcolene 10w50 fully synth Vtwin oil in mine and its fine........:thumbup

As BB says it doesn't matter too much although there is some thinking in that fully synthetic oil can cause the clutch to start slipping when the clutch itself is starting to get a little worn. Aprilia recommend 15w50 semi synthetic oil for example Putoline Sport 4 15w50, Silkolene Comp 4 15w50 or Rock Oil Guardian Sigmma 15w50. The choice is yours however

Have a read up on changing the oil on these bikes. It's very straight forward but a little different to your average in line 4

Thanks guys, will give that a go over the next week if poss. Am i right in thinking its 3.5 ltrs of oil to do a change and filter.

What he ^ said. The recommended way once the filter is changed and plugs refitted is to fill the reservoir tank to max, start the engine and watch your oil disappear, stop the engine and then refill to max again.
