What year Ohlins from RSVR or Tuono will fit my 08 Tuono if I upgrade suspension? Thanks

You need the Factory unit from an 04 on RSVR (not a "mille") or the 06 on Gen 2 Tuono.

Batfastard you are a font of knowledge. If I've a problem with my bike I'm just gonna PM you and Nob.

Just out of curiousnessness. Could you put shims on to go from 51 to 53mm ?
Ohlins to Showas diameter. I know you can on the top yolk.

AF1 sell the top yoke shims for fitting Ohlins forks, but it's usually cheaper to revalve the Showa's internally. The front forks aren't that bad compared to the rear shock though.

and if you're 15 stone plus you might wanna consider a heavier spring

oh; and there's one in the For Sale section with **** all interest

Would the above mentioned spring fit he OEM rear unit? or just the ohlins?

Maybe im getting carried away not actually been out on the bike yet, but coming from an SD and doing a few trackdays I want sorted suspension.

Was looking at the Maxton got an email, new rear shock 420 and front forks with work done 300 + vat, hmmmmmm tempting.

Agreed, done it myself. Surprising? what a front fork fettle achieves. KIAS in Atherton are pretty good.

Dan ,the frunt end is fine , just sort the back end out ,and you will find the front end starts to werk beter , your abowt the same wate as me put a cupple of terns of preload on the rear ,then check your statick free sag at the back with out austing the frunt , the frunt shoud be abowt rihgt for you , I havent needed to tuch mine , its just the back is a bit plush , but you mite find Ok to stert with , try it ferst with the standed set up , but you will defo notice the diffrence wen you get the rear shock swoped out .:thumbup

Cheers Mark! looking forward to the SD.net trackdays haha

Yes it would most likely fit the OEM but TBH mate forget salvaging anything from the OEM. The standard sachs is crap on the road but full-on useless for the track.

Maxton are good but I remember new ohlins units going for less than that on eBay
