The FH012AA is one of the better ones , still a shunt type but a very effcient one none the less. Next would be a series type unit (Only available from the U.S though), but would certainly be the best.

Many thanks so looking for a later 04 0nwards yamaha r1 tdm900,fjr1300. is there a wiring diagram ?

You will need the relevant wiring kit to go with the differant R/R, what year/model is your RSV ?

Its a 2003 one of the last gen1

So you would be best to hardwire it direct to the alternator, this removes the 2 connectors that cause all the problems in the charging circuit.

Ok, do you mean remove the brown and white connectors ??.

Yeah, sorry should have explained that bit in previous post. Whe dealing with the round white connector be careful as it has 2 other smaller wires which are from the crank sensor (I just cut out the plug and used a fully waterproof connector for them)
