And how did you feel when stopped, and the thought of doing the same to get back home

Just wondered

Not on the Mille but I've done Durham to Oxford and it rained all the way down! 6 long miserable hours.........

The sun shone all the way back and it was quite pleasant!

The weather makes all the difference.

Disaster trip

In 2002 on my Millie & my brother in law on is two month old Kawasaki 600. We left my home in staffordshire at 7.00pm on a Friday night to do a ten day trip around Europe. We rode to Dover for the ferry, had a two hour ferry crossing & then headed straight for Toulouse for our first nights stop. About 40 miles short of Toulouse in a small town called cahors my brother in laws bike started knocking severely from the engine. On investigation it was obvious that the engine was foooooked. He rang the rac who were great & sent a taxi for him & a wagon for is bike. Both he & bike were drove & flown home. This left me with the dilemma do I do a ten day trip alone or go home. So I decided to turn around & head home. It worked out that I did 1600 miles in 31 hours only stopping for fuel & ferry crossing. I was absolutely knackered but the milie never missed a beat. I have done several trips on Honda VFR,s & had terrible back ache but never a pain on the Millie.

My god, that's alot at one time

I've noticed about 30 have looked but said nothin'...maybe like me, they havent been anywhere

Not on the Mille, but a 748. I did Dagenham to Malaga in one go, only stopping for the ferry and petrol. Although I did have to stop for an hour or so to get a coupla links taken outta my chain and to sort out a seized rear brake.

Regular euro round trips of 1500 high speed miles with no hiccups,Zeebruges to Brno non stop 12.5 hours..(7 fuel stops. All in torrential rain! With racetechs fitted, neither bike nor tyres gave any issuses at all.
But ride it 20 mins to work when it was raining and it conked out lol
ck

It isn't far but the 40 miles I did today on the motorway at 50mph because I have a f@@king nail in my 6 week old rear tyre, it seemed like the journey would never end!!

I had similar on the v4 noticed a big nail in it before a 60 mile return journey and just a mile from home the tyre utterley deflated and i ground to a halt, cpuld barely push it home without the rims being damaged, still like you it got me hom.. Ish!!

670 miles back from the nurburghring in one hit.
Mind you, I have a tuono, so you could say that's cheating :lol

Not been abroad on mine, but regular 300 plus miles, with my lad on pillion, hence the 60k on the clocks. Let me down on the road once, when the alternator freied itself at 39k (brown connector split, shorting out the alternator).

Back in 2004 I rode from Lands end to John O Groats and back to Lands end doing Knockhill on the way up and Donington on the way back down, we had some diversions on the way to visit sponsors of the ride, we basically did 500 miles a day for four days, we had a curry every night and raised £3000 for the Isle of Man Air Ambulance in memory of Ronnie Smith, Performance bike tester, BSB racer and Maccu hero. loved every second of it.

You must have been walking like John Wayne after 4 days on a Mille. How many hours were you on the bike each day?

Rob :)

Rob trust me It wasnt the most comfortable trip I ever did, I did have a gel seat on but still it was hard, and we were on the bikes for many hours ha ha many hours, I even had a rear tyre go at ###mph on the motorway near Carlisle, very interesting bringing it to a halt, The Superbike center Carlisle sent a bloke out with a van and took my bike in, next morning it had a brand new tyre on and all checked over ready for us to go and they wouldnt take any money for it ! top guys !! When we arrived back in St Ives we rode into the nightclub I worked at and did a big ole burnout in the bottom bar ha ha

Not on my mille but when i was 16 I rode from Kent to Coventry on my CB50J, 190 miles taking 10 hours in pissing rain to a rally - then Hells Angels turned up and a couple of stabbings - I cacked myself. Also did the Bol D'or, stayed till the Monday and did the Paul Ricard for £5 till midday and rode back in one go with a shagged front tyre, nearly 800 milles ( also no screen or mirrors as thieved overnight ) not on CB50J. Went with 2 mates, on GSXR1100 and ZXR750, both with noisy pipes. Me, with no screen or mirrors in own world - what do tossers do, fall back, get up to 130/140 or so and piss pass either side scaring the **** out of me, so called mates !!!
Happy days
