I need a spare pair of wheels for my '06 Factory for trackday wets.

Given that I need to get them second-hand, what models would make a suitable donor?
  • Would I be right in assuming that the non-Factory (cast) wheels fit the Factory for the same model year?
  • Which wheel years are directly compatible with the '06 Factory?
  • Where older wheels can be adapted (spacers), are these adapters readily available?
Any other advice for an Aprilia newb?

Oh, and lastly, ANYONE GOT A PAIR FOR SALE?

thanks cHRIS, YES THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE brg. they are the real oZ's, in blue good condition all you need is the spacers to fit. 500 squid plus postage( I bought from new a year ago)
pm me matey.
cheers CK
PS-Chris matey, stm, quickshifter and TB's now on, just waiting for a custom map now yeehaaw.

mate, what method are you gonna use for painting yer new oz's, I know Triple S enamelers do a good job of black powdercoating, certainly tougher than the blue anodising.
cheers Andy

CK,

Having had both painted and powder coated rims on my Multistrada, and given that these OZ rims are my wet set, I'll be getting them painted at a local place I'm getting my bodywork (ARD Racing) painted. Ultimate Bike Paint. Leastways that's plan A.

Gold for the rims and BRG for the bodywork.

are they any good as a spay shop?, I will be needing a full paint job soon

TBD on that. I'm taking them on recommendation...

Previously I've used Dream Machine and Liquid Image (Wellingborough - via Duc Ayesbury). Both excellent quality though service from latter was poor.

Yes thanks Carnadge1. I'm sorted now.

CK - Got my wet wheels sorted now...

Paint (and scrape repair) sub-contracted through my favourite dealer (JHS Racing), along with bearing check, new valves and Pirelli Diablo Rains (127/70 & 180/55).

Got the bolts and spacers for the discs you provided and sourced a rear disc from Time Machine Bikes.

Here's hoping they never see any use!!!

Badger,

Painted - see post #6 for my cut on paint v. powder. I didn't use Ultimate for these as I got them as a job lot with my tyres etc; I'll be giving Ultimate a ring soon to spray up my track bodywork (ARD Racing) now that I've completed the fitting.

Rains = £265 the pair - fitted and balanced (loose wheels).

They look good BRG, and ARD is good track bodywork, let us see it when it's painted:thumbup

Badger, see thread "2008/05/07 Castle Combe" in Bike Pictures.

Looks tidy mate, i have just ordered an ARD kit for mine, did you fit it and was it a good fit with little modding needed, or did it need a bit of work?
