Wheel finish?

Hi all,

I was wondering what (if anything) the Gen 2 owning guys had done with your wheels...

I have noticed the blue paint, especially on the rear appears prone to chipping so my mind has turned to powder coating but if so, what colour?

My bike is back and red (see avatar), I have always had a strange love/hate feeling about the blue wheels on a red/black bike but think that to coat them black would be boring and red a bit tarty but remember some of the Gen 1 bikes came with red wheels.

Or do I keep it standard and get them painted in the blue again?

Any thoughts???

I bought another set of wheel for a bargain price and had them powder coated gold , more or less the same colour as the calipers and disc centres .

best of both worlds . there is a picture in the 2015 calender pics of my bike wit, the gold wheels !, but its on the tuonoworld site ..

went this way with my old one, now belongs to my son

very retro with the red glitter flake

Oh yea forgot to mension once you have your wheels p/ coated their a peice of cake to keep clean !!:thumbup

as a good compromise get em p/coated " ford racing blue " . looks more or less original colour .

Thanks guys, I agree on easier ot keep clean when they're powder coated as have had some done before, the Ford blue is a good shout.
Sounds like another job to add to the winter project list.
