Hi,

this may sound like a stupid question, but can anyone tell me what the difference between radial brakes and non radial brakes are, and how do you spot the difference between the two??

I have a 2005 RSV-R with the black coloured fork legs, would these have radial or no radial brakes fitted??

Cheers.

Here are a couple of pics to show the difference, the top pic is radial and the bottom one is axial.

Thanks for the pics mate, mine are definately the axial type, the radial ones look the business.

Sniper, you have a standard model RSV1000R - that model got radials from 2006 onwards I think. on 2004-2006 its the Factory model (equivalent to the earlier mille-R) that gets radials, ohlins, OZ and carbon bits.

interested in your exhausts btw..

Cheers mate, wish i'd bought an 06' one now, i blame my brother it was his bike first,

re the exhausts they are the 50mm straight through type, the baffles fit in to the ends.

Checked my brakes, they are actually radial mounted, result!

I'm only selling the arrows to fund some work on the bike, I had to have the fork seals and the rear rocker cover gasket replaced, which put a decent dent in my over draft, now it looks like i may need my left fork re-chroming, as it's got a tiny chip in it which seems to cause the new left seal to leak, TW@T!! I've put the original cans back on for now and i'm selling the arrows to cover some of the cost to keep the missus of my case!!

Geoff.
