spent all day on the thing KB, IMO IT LOOKS WORSE THAN WHEN I STARTED.

i used a few different foam cleaners, lemon fresh as well. tried good old fairy but nope!!!

Dont use fairy liquid,...it contains salt,...not good for exposed metal.
I just use a car shampoo, warm water and a decent sponge.Dry off with a microfibre cloth or an old t shirt.Sometimes takes a couple of goes to get all the squashed bugs off.
For the wheels,a few squirts of WD40 will remove chain lube and road tar.Same for the cans.
To polish the shiny stuff like carbon fibre, paintwork, etc,I use a tin of Castrol bike polish.
Mine is one of the faster Diablo Black bikes and I use Motul shine and go polish on the matte paintwork.

I have started to use up all the ponsey shower gels.

Seem to get less streaks and makes the bike smell looooverly.

Mr Sheen is great for wheels (chain lube just wipes off) and plastics, better than much more expensive stuff.

Up on stands.
Bucket of car shampoo & some Doc stuff...can't remember the number.
Soak an old tee shirt, drape it over front...leave.
Spray Doc stuff over sprocket/chainset...leave.
Make a brew
Drink said brew
Have e second cup
AND a biscuit if you're feeling lush
Back to work....
Quick wash over everything....the muck will be dissolved and come off easy
Rinse with watering can
Chamois dry
Make another brew
Few more cups
Autoglym polish
& bumper care for black plastic areas.

One more brew
Admire work
get missus to pat you on the back
:)

Oil n grease on swing arm and wheels easy peesy, bike on stand bucket ov hot soapy water and sponge to one side , then pour some white spirit in an container, a cheapo paintbrush then apply paint brush dipped in white spirit over the chain turning wheel as you go then your wheel when it looks like its all off , use your hot soapy water to wash all the areas you've used the w,spirits, I do my brake calipers aswell it's amazing but make sure you give it all a good soaping off and especially off ya tyres coz it will go on there too , I know people will say it will wash the grease out ov your bearings ect but believe me I've been doing this for years n I've never had a problem with white spirits , it stinks but it works.
Ps read your question wrong I use mguires or auto glyn works for me and don't use the white spirits on ya plastics might av a reaction ?

Use a mate who does valeting. :yes
He has all the stuff, snow foam the lot. Chat on to him while he's working. Result. :thumbup

I use SDoc100, its expensive at £18 a litre but really good at dissolving old chain lube/brake dust etc. Followed by a coat of autoglym carnuba (sp?) wax and autosol on the shiny bits.

I've used muc off and autoglym wash stuff before but the SDoc is way better, remember to leave it to soak (up to 30 mins) on the swing arm/rear wheel if really bad. Then jet it off with strong hose (I used a jet wash when it was really filthy but a lot of people dont recommend this as it can blow grease out of chain o rings/bearings etc). I was just a bit careful where I pointed it.

Normally take missis in garage, ensure bucket and sponge connected to arms, leave instructions on freezer and leave for an hour. Close door make a fresh cup of coffee and a wee choccy buscuit, turn on Eurosport and catch up on BSB,WSB,MotoGP. Review after 50 mins with respectable comments. Come back after to 10 to open the door to let missis back in Kitchen lol!!

Oh I'm going get stick for this!!!

Colbro, its only fair, especially if you do all the house chores & let the missus go to the pub.

Or is it really her bike & she just allows you to sit on it occasionally ???

Would not happen in Geordie land !!

Lol yes I'm afraid I do the hoovering I hold my hands up! I'm weakening in my old age! I think she try's to say it's our bike but in reality we know who owns it. Even though she threw some money at it.

The avatar looks a little like my old T
and yes I know what you Bromsgrove lads are like, I find that doing the odd bit in the house earns
a good few brownie points for the weekend jaunts away.
