so here's the story so far .............. I'm currently building a tuoldo from the ground up from parts I've had from me racing and hording days :rolleyes

anyways my initial idea was to build it into a tuono racing rep look but since I've been going I've been looking at the bits and pieces and now I'm wondering if I should just build it with all the carbon fibre bits I've collected over time. It would mean that the only non cf bits would be the underseat panels and the tank and maybe the fuse covers.

The reason for my thought is whilst its not cost me an arm and a leg it's still costing me and without a job money is starting to become a little more of a treasured commodity. Stuff to do still for the T-Racing look would be powder coating the wheels white and getting the showa forks Griffilised :cool

So what ya reckon carry on with my idea, change it slightly and go the cf route? (the seat unit is a cf racing unit from an 01-02 bike so not 03 look). I'm not one to go for other people to make up my mind but when you stare at summat for too long your focus gets hazey

T Racing's fully carbonated anyroad innit ???

Do summat different like Mogi dun imo.

Dare to be different and stand out from the crowd, take the opportunity to build the bike that YOU want!!!!

Agree with Nob and Baggy, don't build a replica anything, build summat unique that only you will have, and that will get lots of attention at bike meets.

I guess I'm fourthing the notion that you should build a standout bike with all the hottest sexiest bits. I LOVED nobs Fuono. Build it and they will come. Lets see some pics of the bits and the build please!

I hear you all, however I'm a fan of the tuoldo look as it is (the bits I'm building this bike from has been mostly mille parts so its yer standard mille to tuono build I guess - its just that they haven't been together before on this bike, the other parts are all tuoldo so not going to be doing a moggi here as I have all the bits already, some as it goes from moggi :D )

Anyways I guess the question was do I paint the plastic parts I have (03 seat unit etc) or do I use the 01-02 cf race seat unit and not paint the stuff black? which is what I had already kind of thought of doing.

So far I've powder coated the frame, swinger, subframe and clock bracket satin black, I've installed a set of showa radial forks (don't know if I'm going to powder coat the wheels white yet as they are in perfect condition as they are in black).

shvlheadwolf - I'll post up the pics in a thread some time soon, there may be some interested folk who want to see it I guess?!

cheers for the input :thumbup

Sorry dude, misunderstood you, use the race seat and dont change the colour of the wheels, the more black the better.

So, laddy buck, any major decisions yet? I still say take the best o' the best and make her something that you will be proud of and not have to worry about seeing another one every time you pull into a parking lot...

probably just do it in the cf look for now and if I decide it needs the t-racing look then its not a major step to get the few bits needed pc's and painted :thumbup

cheers all for the input ................... still got to get the other 2 Mille's built as well ............... laziness has stopped me running 2 builds at once :banghead .............. well that and space :rolleyes

I'll bang some pics up once I'm sorted ............ can't be arsed to upload a few dozen images to photobuchet at the mo .................... yep you guessed it!!!! LAZINESS!!! :yes

by the by ......... I managed after much perserverance to get hold of Aprilia UK (I need to register the frame as it was bought as a race bike back in 03 ... anyways to register it I need either a Certificate of Conformaty <- the easy way :thumbup or I need to go through an SVA and the other longwinded tasks <- the hard way :thumbdown) asked them nicely for a CoC and they nicely said ............. get stuffed !!!! :( most manufaturers will give you one for behicles built after 2000 but Aprilai says its too old! of well hey ho its the long winded process for me then :rolleyes

Wot he said i agree build wot u want or wot your wallet will allow, not wot people want sod them lol its yours m8 :)

so here we go peeps, this is what it looks like so far. I've got to sort out bigger lock stops as the GENII yokes have a wider sweep so the fork legs hit the airtubes (thats why they're not on) I still need to paint the tank and seat unit. I'm starting to like the black wheels over the white :) and before anyone comments on the boat anchor and plastic - it's on for the MSVA test it needs to go through to get registered.
