Hiya lads ive only been registered 2 hrs and im already clogging the boards with questions lol i do appologise

Im still a freshboy to the biking scene i passed me test last year and have yet to be on the open road,

As im a freshboy/newb/cowboy which ever best relates lol im in need of some help on which clothing is best to go for, i dont really want to buy lots of stuff straight away as its very exspensive, and winter is nearly over and summer is nearly here thank the lordy lord,
DO you think i could get away with Leather Jacket decent gloves and boots and a pair of jeans or do you really think its super important to get winter clothing, i wont be using the bike everyday and especialy not in the rain

look forward to your input

cheers

chris

Chris, you really don't want to be riding in jeans fella :no, not a good idea.

Go for either one piece or two piece leathers for both the winter and summer. You can wear a fleece over the leathers or a waterproof jacket or one piece waterproofs for winter riding.

As you are a tall fella like me ( i'm 6ft 2" ), finding gear that fits properly can be difficult however try these makes

Texport
Richa
Alpinestars

The leathers should be a tight comfy fit as they will give after a while. If they are loose, baggy and too short, try something else

Jeez yer gonna make the mille look tiny!!! not sure about your size sorry but matey theres loads of good second hand leathers, boots etc on the bay of fleas, 400 should be enough for the mo!
cheers Ck

Milleboy82,

If your on a tight budget try Hein Gericke, there well priced and sizing is not bad. You should be able to yourself a 2 piece suit for a little over £200.00. Try the one in Dudley, it usually has more offers/sales on than the one in Brum.

Cheers,

Ritch !!!

good tip cheers Ritch

does anyone know what all these 44,46,48 etc etc sizes are

I know r im a big un lol i had a go on a 600RR that thing was tiny

Are bikes shrinking nowadays or are we getting taller :dunno, although i must admit that cbr600 is tiny . Being on the taller side myself i find the mille gives ample room and comfortable over any journey.
Ive always waited for the bike shows to pick up bargain leathers and winter stuff but like ck said £400 should be ample enough to kit youself out m8 on the fleabay :thumbup

Alright mate i'm about the same size as you just a little shorter 6,2 ish and i fit into a 48 one piece Arlen ness "kangaroo" (Stretchy) suit. but i reckon being that tall your prob need a two piece!

When sliding Along the road a pair of jeans will last about 0.2 of a second where as a half decent set of leathers will last a lot longer and when its your skin thats next in line for the road you gotta think, its worth spending the money.

your roughly the same sizes as me, for leathers I normally take a 54 euro size.
Best thing to do is go to some shops and try stuff, then find it cheaper on ebay.
You should be able to get yourself sorted for your budget without many problems.

You want to try a bloody good helmet have a loook at the OGK FF4 helmet these are normally £300 on ebay there for sale at £149 if you want to check these out have a look on www.webbikeworld.com/r2/ogk/ff4/ and then for the rest of your kit try J&S accessories from doncaster as far as price there damn good even in the bargain section best of luck

What ever you decide mate DONT RIDE IN JEANS! It's better to wait and save the money for leathers. The chances are you wont fall off, but if you do you need to have leathers on. I dont want to sound like a boring ****** but you need to protect yourself bud. Road rash aint nice.

J and S in Northwich is just up the road, always cheap suits in there, I never go out the house without my leathers on, unless I'm in the car then you sweat your knackers off.

Always wear leathers mate......:thumbup

I fully tested mine out earlier this evening after a little highside spat me off :angry
