What mirrors?

I want to change the mirrors on my 06 Factory as they are worse than useless! I have a slight (and old) neck injury meaning I can't rotate my neck like an owl as I did when I was younger lol. What mirrors fit this bike, keeping the indicators in place, but actually giving me the ability to see behind me, rather than just a view of my side. They just don't stick out far enough or angle properly.

Wish you'd posted this earlier, I've just bought a set with indicators but I would have bought your old ones off you.

There is someone who makes alloy mirror extenders for gen 2 models but think they may be £40.

peeps who bought them say they put the mirrors higher more than outwards ... some have put ugly zx10r mirrors on ... several options available....or just move ya elbow like most of us :D

Wish moving my elbow worked! It did on my GSXR but on this bike all I see is my leathers. Being 18 stone doesn't help either I guess lol.

Got the mirror extenders on mine..Slightly better, in that I can now see half my elbow and half the road. :dunno

I brought the block things, took about ten minutes to fit and now I can see alot better but you still need to move your elbow. Worth the money save you points/fines.....I hope.

Where do you get these block extender thingies?. I've got a pair of Gen 2 mirrors with built in indicators I've been meaning to fit to my 2000 model but haven't got around to doing it yet. I know about the ins and outs of getting them to fit the earlier models but have been thinking about using extenders as well.

Those look good and fairly simple in design. I reckon I could get my m8 who is a toolmaker at a local factory to knock a set of those up if he had the right dimensions. He's made stuff like swing arm bobbins and other little bits for a couple of us before out of both alloy and plastic.

What would it cost for your mate to do something for a gen 1? I'm sure there is a market for a few sets around here!
