I use a Harris paddock stand for the run of the mill jobs and the ABBA stand for the longer jobs where a bit more stability is required. Both excellent pieces of kit.
 
Used Abba stand on my last three bikes.

Awesome piece of kit.
 
Ok thanks I am in the USA and never heard of the abba how many duckets?

I'm sure Abba will ship one out to you if they are not already out there.
Motorcycle Equipment - Abba Stands, UK
In conjunction with the Abba stand I put a wheel spinner under the front wheel. This works well and the bike is very stable.

As does cski1, I also sometimes use a paddock stand, but I don't like trying to balance the bike on my own whilst using it..
 
Excellent job.. let us know how you get on with the front wheel lift. That is a later addition the the abba range.
