What does this do....?

Thanks El Liamo - Hope so...I was wondering if it has something to do with steering...??? Btw I have a 2003 Tuono Fighter.
You can see in the second pic it was located between the forks. I went for a spin yesterday and the steering just didn't seem as tight, but then I haven't been on it in a while.....Really need to get to the bottom of this as I can't do wheelies! (in case the front wheel comes off)

It's a tank bag front fastener - got an Aprilia bag for my gen 1 and got one of those with it.
Bag has a loop strap at front that hooks on to the bobbin....
Still wouldn't touch it tho......:no

Hopefully photos show bolt and expansion piece which goes in steering stem and grabs as you tighten the bolt
