Any suggestions as to the best on the T?

On the Fazer I had before I always used Wurth cleaner and chain lube which seemed to work well with little throw off but am open to suggestions.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I am a newby and couldn't find it anywhere.

^^You have answered your own question there.^^ Wurth is one of the best out there.
Personally,I clean the chain, then give it a light spray of Castrol chain wax.

Same as you and Keith, wurth jist remember to put it on when the chain is still warm.

Wurth dry chain lube here as well, i've tried alot of different kinds but always come back to the wurth.

I am a secret chain lube tester!:laugh

From the left,
Shell Advance-gold in colour, little to no fling 7/10
Ancient Castrol lube-crap,dont bother.Ok for unsiezing old rusty pliers! 1/10
Motorex 622-Very similar to Wurth and Putoline,only thinner.White colour.7/10
Putoline Ceramic-Identical to Wurth,wonderfull stuff.Very sticky white stuff.(ahem!)9/10
Castrol Chain wax-As the Shell advance, but slightly stickier.8/10
Silkolene lube-Another old tin.Gold in colour,flings every where. 5/10
Not shown,
PJ1 blue-Sticks quite well,but can be pricey for such a small can.7/10
Wurth ceramic-Along with the Putoline,..the best.9/10
Yoshimoto slipitin-Not sure if its still availabubble.Goes on pink and dries a kinda silver colour.Nozzle soon gets gunged up,which is very annoying.5/10
Link Lyfe-'Orrible stuff,...again,not sure if its available. The idea is you heat the tin up untill the grease melts and then submerge the chain in it.Apart from being very messy, you have to remove the chain from the bike.Ok for non 'O' ring chains on old Brit knackers.Oh,dont use use yer mams stove to melt the stuff...makes the house stink and if you spill any, you'll never get the stain out!:rolleyes:1/10

ive just brought some silkolene titanium chain gel, gives your chain that factory white spunky coated look. Bonus is it also stays on the chain fairly well.
Fling factor rating 8/10

pinny, far be it from me to pull any fud up aboot their engerlish. If yer purchase somat yer buy it. if yer already purchased somat yer BOUGHT it.

If yer go to the fight yer might bring somat. If yer talkin aboot yesterday's fight yer might say "I brought somat that shut them fuds right up".

Whit yer sayin mucker ???

brought / bought when you have had a face full of red wine it all looks the same.

Jist wipe it from yer eyes and ye'll be fine.

chainsaw oil for me.......... tyre`s too wide for it to affect the grip. There is no tread there anyway (Rensport)

I used to use the Link Life back in the 70`s and where else could you melt it than on the cooker.

the tyres were square then so the excess didn`t get on the tread.

yep....good stuff but a bit pricey from hein gerieke

I now use wurth dry lube...
smells the same
looks the same
feels the same
lasts the same
but 25% cheaper :thumbup

..but does it taste the same?

Aldo, very good point on the warm chain thing.
Ah seriously reckon that wi the modern O-Ring an X-ring type chains precious little lube actually ever gets intae the bit that really matters, ie the inner link pivots. Maybe bein warm would help it seep intae the gaps better.

Mah burst chain incident earlier this summer is a prime example o that. Ah lubed it up regular like a good un and when it snapped the inner link pivots were dry as **** and showin rusty bits despite the outsde bein clarty wi lube.

T, yep....good stuff but a bit pricey from hein gerieke.

If you've got a wurth supplier near you buy it from them. I got two cans of the dry lube for £13 + and I think HG charge a tenner a can.

great at washing off the tar and kak ... but what would it do to o rings?

Haven't had any problems in the past, I think that some of the thicker lubes and waxes cause road grime to stick to your chain and sprocket which may shorten the life of both.
Just my opinion,
Cheers mate.

That certainly sounds sensible

I was looking at one of those spiral brush things you twist round the chain to clean prior to lube ... anybody tried one?
