What are these wires for!?

Right guys, I'm a wee bit confused abut this......I'm in the middle of fitting the new r&r to the factory and have been looking online at other Rsv owners who've done this. Now, each one of these just shows the 3 x yellow wires from the alternator going straight into the new MOSFET r&r......which is fine

BUT..........

my bike has the 3 x yellow wires but also has, what looks basically like 3 core mains flex, in line with them!!! These were connected to the oe r&r so presume they are required but have no idea what they are for or why, in other threads, there is no mention of these???

If you know, can you tell me????

looks like a bodge to me!!!
Maybe the previous owner ran them parallel to the original 3 yellows to share the load.
Still a bodge job.

Mmmmmm........if that's the case mate, I take it the colours of the wires are not important in this case and they are simply all running the ac volts from the stator/alternator??? If so, I could simply join them with any of the 3 x yellow wires again, as it was fitted before???

On my fireblade they were all running ac volts and it didn't matter what wires were connected to each other as long as they were all connected like andirsv said..

you will need to keep them joined to the same ones at each end if you see what I mean.

Mate, I'm not even going to risk it. I'm going to strip it out and replace it with all new heavier wire, with a little connections as possible to the r&r

Nothing ever goes smoothly does it!!!
