Alright all, just ordered a pair of Michelin Pilot power 2CT's and wanted to know the correct/recommended pressures for both front and rear. The sizes are f - 12/70/17 and r - 190/55/17. Been searching for about 20 mins and have read about 10 different recommendations...:dunno !!

The vast majority of my riding will be commuting (spirited where possible..:devious..!!!) and weekends away (these are being fitted to my 1998 Speed Triple).

Any help would be grateful...:thumbup

:cheers

Hello fella,i ride an 04 with the same tyre sizes as yours, front is 36psi & rear is 42psi,works perfect on mine, all the best,kev..:thumbup

Andi, 34 front and 37 rear are spot on for them, i have been through a few sets:thumbup

I'm running BT016's with front 36 rear 42 and they are filled with Nitrogen.

Pressure variations by temperature are zero. Damn impressive this Nitrogen malarkey!!

What about Dunlop 208's. They're old i know but they have 1K left in them?

These need 0 psi front and rear :thumbup that way you'll be unable to ride your bike and you'll be safe :biggrin I wouldn't have those on any bike of mine ever again...just my opinion of course :dunno

I'm on Pilot Powers and running 33f 36r

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha i know. Whats the next set to be then? Pilot 2CT's? My corsa's used to good on the 600 last year aswel.:thumbup

I had 2ct's on my cbr6 and they were excellent, but then so have the powers on the mille :thumbup so my next tyres I would be happy with either, depends how much cash i have to spend at the time :dunno I'm not a speed nut like some on here so there would be no point going for the stickiest race tyre coz i'd never use them to the full potential they'd be capable of :biggrin

Quite a few motorcycle tyre dealers have on site Nitrogen generators now, if you buy the tyres from them then they don't usually charge extra for the Nitrogen fill instead of air.

If it's just a refill with Nitrogen then you may be looking at £10 for both.

Manual for my 02 says 2.2 & 2.9 bar, which I calculated online as 32 & 36 psi.

Too low on the rear? All my Hondas have had 36 / 42 !

If commuting only..run the higher pressure set....if getting up it..lower the pressure a couple of pound. Badger has alot of experience with tyre pressures..i would start around his figures ol mate.

33F and 36R for the road, anything more feels awfull to me. They seem to like lower pressures, helps grip.
I always had 36F and 42R in my other bikes but not this one

If I read this right then Andi is having the 2CT's fitted to his 1998 Speed Triple, not the RSV :dunno certainly the figures I put up from the Michelin site are for a Speed Triple gents so don't go using them for an RSV.
