Meh, this will have been discussed a million times already but ive just swapped my 17t with a 16t on the advice of this very forum. I am extremely happy with the results, If you havent done this already and want crazy acceleration, do it!

15 evens crazier but i'm not brave enough..probably go up on the back 1 or 2 teeth soon to go with my 16tooth

more points on the license ;) you're not alowed to wheelie ................. apparently ;)

one down on front up two at rear with standard chain = very short wheelbase ..and the revs exactly where ya want them!!
ck

Whats the standard back mate? Might look into that as my wheels are coming off for a tyre change in the next few days.

17/42 was standard i believe up to 2003

mine came with a spare 15 front and of course i had to try it.

actually the bike is allot better with lower gearing especially at slow speed and around town

have a look HERE to get an idea of what different sprockets do to rpm and speed in each gear

Cheers for that mate, oddly I was just looking at that site about half an hour ago. I was considering going for the 44t on the back. I did a little bit off looking around and some people are talking about changing the chain, not what I had in mind really. Totlay agree with the movemebt around in town etcm theres no way ill be max speeding it but getting there is fun!

I had 17/42 standard but now have 15/44 with a standard 108 chain kindly fitted by Griff a while ago!!

Defo one down two up you'll lose 15 mph off the top but it'll get there alot quicker and as the mansays makes it easier to ride round town but you won't half go through the go go juice....

If you think a 16t on the front is good, try 44 on the back. It feels like someone has bolted on +50 bhp and it will lift the front wheel off the deck in the lower gears at the slightest sniff of the throttle.
