Picked up the bike from Ohlins guru, he charged me £200 for full service on front and rear suspension including new seals in the front. Well what a difference it has made, whoever had it before had f*cked with the settings apparently not knowing what they were doing.

He set the base settings to my weight (or what he believes it should be). On the way home the bike was totally different, before it felt nervous and didn't want to turn into corners I thought it was a bad front tyre. Now its falling into corners and holding a line like its running velcro tyres. Really instilled confidence best £200 I could have spent.

Now its in getting serviced, new chain, 15t fr and 42t rr sprocket AND a hooked airbox, oooooooh lordy lordy am I lookin forward to gettin it back :banana

That's great news, glad you had a result.

You'll being doing cart wheels down the street once you hear that induction roar from the air box.

I run 15/42 set up and have one word for it - WOW!!!!

It amazes me the money people throw at tuning when a small amount spent on suspension will allow you to go faster and have more confidence plus enjoy your bike sooooooooo much more, good move mate.

the gearing and airbox will liven it up no end as well:thumbup

congrats wobbly,

i had the suspenders sorted on my old 6r, difference was like night & day, initially i kept running into the inside of the bend it turned so quickly and confidently, i was noticeably quicker at mallory when i thought i was just cruising around. berry 'appy.

regarding gearing, ive just counted my teeth, and ive got 16/45 which by my calculation is the same as 15/42 but to me it still feels overgeared. i went 30 miles on the m25 the other day before i realised that i had another cog to go. i was thinking of lobbing a 15 on the front & keeping the rear 45 but i guess that might be a bit wheely prone.

On a separate note, and i know im new to the ape, but i found that i wasnt accelerating as hard 'cos i wasnt twisting the throttle enough. might sound obvious but i've never ridden a bike that had so much range in the throttle. Feels like it needs a QA throttle to me but from a search on here it looks like that will cost about £130! any one come up with a cheaper option?
