MAX BIAGGI WILL RIDE THE APRILIA RSV4 SUPERBIKEShare
Today at 12:33pm
Massimiliano Biaggi is to be Aprilia’s top rider in the Suberbike World Championship.
The rider from Rome won three of his four MotoGP world championship titles with Aprilia. Now he has signed a contract that will see him back with Aprilia and riding the RSV4 for the next two seasons.

Max Biaggi rode for Aprilia from 1991 to 1996. His spectacular adventure began with a first place in the European Championship and went on to record three world championship titles in the 250 class, with 23 GP wins and a total of 37 podiums.

“Biaggi was our number one choice and I’m delighted to have him back with us”, explains Leo Francesco Mercanti, the Piaggio Group’s Director of Product Development and Sports Activities. “Biaggi has written some of the most important chapters in the history of Aprilia’s racing career. He gave us our first really important victories, and rode for us in seasons that saw us dominating the championship. In short, Max Biaggi put Aprilia firmly in the history books of motorcycle racing. To have Biaggi with us to ride the Aprilia RSV4 means the beginning of a whole new challenge. We are convinced that he will give expression to our passion, technical skill, and desire for victory.”
Aprilia has more titles than any other Italian motorcycle constructor currently competing in MotoGP. Between 1992 and the present day, Aprilia has won 31 GP world titles, 4 Supermotard world titles and 2 Trials world titles, and has also won 8 Superbike World Championship races.

Likes himself too much for my liking, be nice to see apes racing again though, pity they have a **** riding it (only my opinion and thats never worth much salt) :roll

Does it trouble anyone else that someone has wet dreams over Max? :dunno  :laugh

I prefer not to think about it:eek:

Didn't Max say something like "if you don't win the the championship in a few years of being there, you ain't good enough, so shouldn't be there!"
when he first went to 500's.

Maybe Aprilia like tantrum's, at least they'll have an excuse.

There are better riders out there.

he'll be good for the sport - how better to sustain sponsorhip than to get a well publisized italian riding an italian bike - will keep aprilia in racing at least for the time being

Lets face it Max is a publicity stunt.

He's huge in Italy and they are cashing in on it. would it be all over the press if they signed an ex 250cc Gp also ran. It is a bit of a result for Aprilia though as i suspect he was off their radar initially due to cost.

I suspect his wage demand dropped somewhat after he was left without a ride. I would question his development potential though.

That sums the whole thing up beautifully Spoonz:thumbup

I feel sorry for the teams spannermen, they are gonna get buggerall feedback except complaints if the bike isn't right straight off. Lets hope he can work as a team and not think he is the lead singer in a one man band!

It does make you wonder about publicity.
It may or may not be what Aprilia want, could be extreme either way.

The Kawasaki teams spannermen are probably relieved:nana

I wouldn't question his development potential:rant, I don't think he has any.
Lets hope I'm wrong.

I hope he likes Pirelli?
