Warped Discs?

I have had some pulsing on the lever on the front brake, only at really low speed and when coming to a complete stop I use the back as there is 100% a bit of a jerk , took delivery of my front paddock stand today and when I rotate the wheel there is a spot where it isn't as tight on the pads, the other 4/5's of a turn is constant. Can't see anything visable but is the disk warped or something else like stuck rivets...pads?

As always appreciate your wisdom being the mechanical newby :dowhat

just read that thread.. just ran out and checked, none of the bobbins really move, one or two wobble slightly ... guess this could be it ...wd40 with white spirit clean after coming up :devious

Be carefull not to contaminate the pads with the WD40. You might want to try using brake cleaner first. You can spray this on quite liberally to remove the brake dust from the bobbins. Then just a minute squirt of WD40 to lubricate the bobbins until they rotate freely

I was just going to do the bobbins at the bottom, then really clean with white spirit before moving round... no brake cleaner to hand but I might wait till tomorrow

well all free now, some were fairly solid, sounds more even as it goes roud, going to try a felt tip now :biggrin

well its slightly better, but still not right, I'm assuming if you have one warped disc you need to replace bothto keep the braking even? ... I put the bike on the paddock stand and put a line on the disk with a board marker and one didn' touch the line the other scrubbed it out .. could it be a pad problem?

Just double check that you've freed up all the bobbins. You should be able to rotate them easily with your thumb and forefinger, i.e thumb and forefinger either side of the disc. 9 times out of 10 it's the bobbins rather than the discs themselves
