I have a stable of several BMWs and Guzzis (plus a Yam WR450F), but I'm missing anything approximating a scalpel. I have a roadster, GS, sport touring, classic Italian standard/touring, enduro' but no sportbike. I've always appreciated vehicles that you don't see every day, so I was steering clear of the Japanese bikes and looking at Triumph's 955i Daytona when I saw an '02 Falco well within my price range (that one was $3,200, but I'd shell out several thousand more). After looking into the Falco, it was just too much like my Moto Guzzi V11 Lemans (2002 MY, Italian, v-twin liter bike, long tank, similar massing, sporty sport touring-oriented). The RSVs, though, seem to fit the niche I'm looking for pretty well.
So, the question: I'm normally proportioned, 6'-5" tall, 35" inseam. At least one forum member (who was 6'-2") suggested that the better choice RSV for taller riders is a 2003 and earlier Mille. I'm watching a 2009 RSV R, though (tasteful navy blue with Ohlins up front). Please comment on the suitability of the latter RSVs for the taller rider. Have you dropped footpegs, raised handlebars, etc.? While I do anticipate spirited rides and maybe some newbie track days, I doubt I'll do too much peg dragging. Also, as there are several other bikes in the fleet I could choose for a several hundred mile ride, all-day comfort is not a must.
Thanks for your thoughts!
