Looking to fit an adjustable steering damper on my 2006 gen2 Tuono 1000r. I sometimes have terrible occilation after 80mph and the sachs one on the bike seems to do the square root of nothing!!!! Does anyone please have one they could spare, sell at a reasonable price etc..... Thank you. Fed up of getting the willies at 90mph with a front wheel that has a mind of its own.

PS the wheel is balanced perfectly.
 
welcome Mr Bear, its polite to to do an introduction first mate :yes you say the wheels balanced but whats the tread like :dunno got the sachs fitted to mine and I don't have any probs :yes ohlins dampers are like hens teeth mate so good luck :thumbup

............anyroads, ah might jist happen tae have such a thing lurking in ma lab behind the hens teeth jar.........


......but.....theres nowt really wrong wi the basic Sachs job ( unless yours is seriously goosed in some way) They dae the job well enough, just dinnae hae adjustment.

Ah wid check the damper mounts and in particular that the wee swivel eyes are free tae rotateare an well lubed up. If all is fine then mibbe its a fork setting issue, mibbe needin firmed up a wee bitty.
Then thirs the tyres, type, tread condition, pressure etc tae consider .

Awfully sorry been reading the forum for so long felt part of it. Any way hi, I am an ex Yamaha vmax owner turned v twin 2006 owner. She has 5000 miles on her, I have now done 2500 on her and loved every moment. I tried my colleagues vsr steering and his was stiff, mine is very loose and I can't feel any resistance what so ever. I have watched tank slappers on u tube. I have a mild version which I hold bars lightly and either try and ride through or slow down. Not hair raising but enough of a wobble to make you think. Doesn't always happen, I am sure wind and poss my drag affects it.
