Hi,

I have one on order but unsure when it'll arrive... And I've got a trackday Friday...

Has anyone got a new one available, ideally the filler tube it screws down on too, but if not just the cap would still help :)

Thanks!
Steve

I'm bound to have a cap & tube Steve, say a tenner including 1st class postage? If you can PM me your details before midday I can get it out this afternoon.

Steve, re the PM's, haven't had your details yet so obviously can't post out today. If your trackday is Silverstone I'm only down the road if you wanna collect?

Yip, sorry. Had some urgent stuff at work :(

It's at Mallory so a fair way away. Will bear you in mind if I get fully stuck. Thanks again!

Ok, fairly sure it's head gasket now...

Life is good if just bimbling round but as you start caning it the poor thing will gradually push coolant out into the overflow. Then when it's cooled down all the water pushed out fits perfectly back into the cooling circuit - it's not loosing any coolant. Still goes like a train, oil fine and now steam out the exhaust - ever. I'm suspecting it's very early stages of a head gasket failure that only passes when the cylinder pressure is high enough. Nearly 40k miles and I suspect a reasonably hard life.

I'm hoping it's just the rear cylinder as I don't particularly want to drop the engine if at all possible!!

Would appreciate any thoughts :thumbup

The plot thickens...

I'm wondering if the mechanical seal has worn so far it's letting the impeller flex into the housing at high revs, lifting the seal off its seat and drawing in air? Might explain why it's fine if kept at low revs?

Found the problem! Blown rear headgasket. Been fine after a few hundred miles of abuse and a day hillclimbing.
