Well thats me all togged up, the bike all prepared .................. sat here now with a tinny waiting for a break in the weather and then whoooosh ...... Yaxley here i come ...... :biggrin

Was gonna travel tomorrow morning but decided to travel as soon as the rain stops ..... 8 1/2 hours ..... thats how long i've been waiting. :dunno Good job its summer hahaha :dowhat

Think its gonna be a middle of the night job ......... Hope there's a 24hr petrol station around cos 150 mile trip is outta my tank range.
 
think youll be waiting a LONG time boyler mate.
its still pissin it down here,given it all day and all 2morrow and sunday.
fookin weather.

Was going to ride down also, even dragged a tent out I've never used..Top quality £8.99 one from Asda but would do for a night away..Worst summer I can remember, though 1977 was pretty bad, can remember getting wet many days that year..
 
It does if you're 'Dr WHO'.. But don't mock.. Those were the days of empty roads, no speed cameras, no speed humps, no proliferation of traffic lights, no political correctness, no aids, no matter what speed you went you didn't get banned, just the endorsement (Before points)..***** said yes without a second agenda of how much they could cream off you via the CSA..Oh happy days..

The Italian electrics still cr*p though..:devious

So..While you were having your nappy changed, I was tearing around on a Suzuki GT380





Plus if you ever saw one without it's centre stand ground away on both sides, you knew the rider was SLOW..:biggrin

i was riding myself by the age of 5 ish lol,so 1978?!
any pics of you in your gear from around that time?

Wouldn't dare post them..You really would be able to take the pi**..Needsless to say, I can remember getting home with legs red raw because of the wet flares slapping them..(Some tory MP's would pay for that)

Oh the bike to have was the then new RD400 Yam, which a mate had just bought, it was faster than the 380 with 2 on , and the reason my Suzuki needed new piston rings after trying to keep up with said mate on a run to Blackpool

Almost scared to write I had the RD400, only ever used rear tyres, wheelied everywhere and no brakes to speak of, if it rained you just couldnt stop - always looking for a run off option in traffic. kinda seesawed through corners aswell like the frame was hinged in the middle. Ace fun and thinking back it was sort of cutting edge. RD = Race Developed. Not sure what races mind.
 
i can remember my dads old honda cb900's?! or sumat like that,when we use to go to the races at donny ect.
also his pride and joy brand new suzuki katana,gsxr1100 and the then new and beastly original fireblade.
great bikes in their day.
ill not go into his ancient nortons,triumphs,bsa's ect.lol
